When Gollum came to us he was almost completely bald, skinny, and had massive bright shining eyes staring up at us – hence his name, Gollum! He was in really bad shape, poor little dude. But look at him now. He’s such a handsome, beautiful dog! Just a little TLC and some medicine was all he needed.
Gollum has a very playful nature, he loves to play ball (and is very good at bringing the ball back – we’ve never trained him to do that, he is just super quick to learn!) his recall is good and he sits on command! He’s very clever. He also learned how to climb out of his compound (we still haven’t worked out exactly how he did it!), but thankfully, he stayed close by and always was happy to go back in when the humans turned up and found him outside the main gates – for a little while, his nickname was Houdini!
Gollum is the alpha male in his compound, but with that, he’s a very friendly goofball. He loves human attention and cuddles and loves going for walks. He’s good in the car and on a recent trip to the vet (he hurt his paw with a very nasty cut) he was absolutely good as gold (so well-behaved) and an absolute darling to all the other dogs he didn’t know at the vet surgery and all the humans he was meeting for the first time.
Gollum would be an amazing addition to a lucky family! A mix of active and cuddly and he would be incredibly loyal.
