Lady Hamish came to the shelter when he was just a young puppy, along with his brothers and sisters: Jocky, Maggie, & Billy are all still in the shelter (sadly their sister Kirsty was killed by a cobra 2 years ago).
Lady Hamish is one of the largest female dogs we have at the shelter. But along with that, she’s one of the softest-natured dogs we have too! She’s very gentle, with dogs and humans. Lady Hamish had a tumor removed from her paw in 2022, it was cancerous but the vet is confident we caught it very early and it was completely removed. We’ve been keeping a close eye on her since, but the vet is confident she’s made a full recovery (hurrah!)
After the operation, Lady Hamish came to live in my house for some TLC. She fitted into home life straight away and was honestly as good as gold. She never made a mess in the house, didn’t bark during the night, and was happy to just sit on the top step and watch the world go by outside the garden fence. She was also incredibly good when we were cleaning her wound and giving her medicine and when she was at the vet (super gentle-natured!) She’s also very good in the car. It was really heart-breaking having to take her back to the shelter seeing how relaxed she was in a home and how much she loved it. ☹ Lady Hamish would be a fabulous pet!
She’s a chilled-out pooch with a gorgeous soft nature who loves to cuddle.
